Each year the benefits department holds the Health Fair to allow employees the opportunity to meet carriers, ask questions about current plans and new plan year changes. Vendor’s participation includes healthy living, exercise, and nutrition.
This year the department became understaffed unexpectedly less than 10 days from the event. It was determined that the preparations for the health fair were not where they needed to be and could quite possibly result in cancelling the event.
Ms. Amezcua was contacted for assistance, guidance and support. She quickly joined the benefits team to assist in obtaining donations, food vendors, and coordination of the venue layout. Within days the event was in full preparation mode and moving forward. On the day of the event, not one table was empty, there were mare food donations than one could ask for and the event was the best attended health fair that we have had In years.
Her attention to detail and knowledge of the coordination of such an event is testament to the success. Her personal engagement with everyone, her friendly and up beat personality, and her event planning skills is why she is a Good Apple in ours eyes.
