Propostion 30 - Education Protection Act

Proposition 30 and 55 - Education Protection Act
Prop 30 was approved by California voters in November 2012. It temporarily increased sales taxes by 0.25% through December 2016. The measure also provided for temporary increases in personal income taxes on California residents with an annual income over $250,000 through the end of 2018.  Proposition 55 was approved by voters in November 2016 and extends the personal income tax increase on incomes over $2500,000 through 2030. The revenue from these taxes helped schools avoid cuts in funding.
