Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

The US Department of Justice announced that it is rescinding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA is an executive action that shields young undocumented immigrants from deportation. It was announced that the government will no longer accept new applications and it will be phased out by March 5, 2018.

Here at Hemet Unified we are lucky to serve a diverse student population and we will continue to strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all of our students. We understand this is a time of uncertainty for many of our students and their families and we hope Congress will establish a solution for those affected.

The Department of Homeland Security posted Frequently Asked Questions on their website to answer questions regarding the rescission of DACA. We will share more information regarding DACA on our website, once it becomes available.
