Faculty Focus Friday for Middle Schools

Diamond Valley Middle School would like to highlight Mrs. Tina Rafferty, our Special Education Department Chair. Mrs. Rafferty has been a Special Education teacher at DVMS for eight years. During that time, she has taught math, science, social studies, study skills, and "Yes, I Can" to students across the middle school grade span. In addition, she has previously engaged in the highly advantageous Co-Teaching model in all four core subject areas. Tina has also voluntarily participated in DVMS's Sunshine Club, Tier 2 and Tier 3 Teams, AVID Site Team, SPEAC, Instructional Lead Team, and introduced Pinwheels for Prevention to our site (designed to promote awareness for child abuse prevention); she is also present at every event hosted at DVMS. Mrs. Rafferty works tirelessly to ensure all students are provided the best opportunities to learn and works closely with others to share her knowledge and experiences, including supporting new teachers through the role of Mentor Teacher. Her quick adaptations to address students' learning needs were recently highlighted in HUSD's Chalk Talk. Mrs. Tina Rafferty is a shining jewel at the Diamond Mind.
