Governing Board Recognition and Award (February)

Hemet, February 16, 2022:  The Governing Board of the Hemet Unified School District, on nomination by Trustee Rob Davis, has selected Matthew Huff, Teacher, as the February recipient of the Governing Board Recognition and Award.

 

Matthew Huff received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University in 1996 and his Master of Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Instructional & Curricular Studies in May 2002. Prior to coming to Hemet Unified he was a teacher with Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada from August 1996 through June 2002.  He began his career in Hemet in August 2002 at Winchester Elementary School.

 

Matt Huff teaches PE at McSweeny Elementary. However, he just doesn't just teach PE to students. He inspires, he motivates, he encourages and he mentors all who come into contact with him. He inspires not only our students but our staff to live a healthy lifestyle with monthly Lifestyle Challenges. He motivates students and staff with monthly physical challenges and he encourages all to participate. He takes the time to mentor our students in making good choices in life. The best part about Matt Huff is this is who he is all the time and with everyone. It's not just his day job and work attitude. Matt Huff is a gifted educator to his core. His passion is health and well-being and he shares that with all who have the pleasure of knowing him or working alongside him. McSweeny is a better place because of Matt Huff!

 

For outstanding performance, professionalism and loyalty to the Hemet Unified School District, Trustee Rob Davis presented Matthew Huff with the Governing Board Recognition of Excellence Award and a $500 certificate to be used toward the District program of his choice.
