Student of the Year "Night of the Stars"

On Thursday, May 19, several high school seniors from the Hemet Unified School District and the San Jacinto Unified School District were recognized as Student of the Year at the “Night of the Stars” Dinner Celebration. The event was put on by the Hemet/San Jacinto Student of the Month Program (SOM Program) and its generous sponsors. It was hosted by the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians at the beautiful Soboba Event Center. Students who were nominated as Students of the Month throughout the school year were invited back to the Student of the Year event where one student from every high school was awarded a scholarship from the SOM Program and additional scholarships were provided by the various partnering organizations. The Student of the Year Scholarships were presented to the following HUSD students:

 

Hamilton High School:

  • SOM Program Scholarship: Zachary Cholodenko-Vollan
  • Dr. Koka Family Medical Scholarship: Ashlyn Miller

Hemet High School:

  • SOM Program Scholarship: Cloe Cadenhead
  • Cassi Tichy Memorial Scholarship: Melany Hernandez

Tahquitz High School:

  • SOM Program Scholarship: Saige Zinck
  • Sizzler/BMW Management Scholarship: Naidelyn Franco

West Valley High School: 

  • SOM Program Scholarship: Alexia Granville

Alternative Sites:

  • SOM Program Scholarship: Christopher Huerta (Western Center Academy)
