Sixty vendors from across Riverside and San Bernardino County participated in the Health & Wellness Back to School Resource Fair on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Families were offered various services ranging from medical care, dental care, basic needs, and more. Over 2,000 people attended the event where they enjoyed In-N-Out burgers, had access to a food pantry, clothes closet, school supplies, shoes, hair cuts, physicals, dental cleanings, and vision screenings. “It was wonderful to be able to provide these resources to our families. This event could not have happened without the support of our community partners, Tahquitz High School staff, students, Parent Liaisons, Print Shop, Nutrition Services, Maintenance & Operations, and our HUSD Security Team,” said Miriam Ortiz, Coordinator of School, Family and Community Partnerships. The Wellness and Community Outreach Center works tirelessly to live out its mission which is to break barriers to learning, meet families where they are at, provide a direct/indirect service, and connect families with needed resources within the community.

Congratulations to all involved in coordinating this amazing and meaningful event for HUSD families!
