Auto Tech at Hemet High Receives ASE Accreditation

The Automotive Technology Program at Hemet HS successfully completed the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, also known as the ASE, Accreditation process, making it one of two high schools within the county to receive this special designation. The ASE accreditation is a big deal for our students because it signifies that our program meets industry standards within the automotive technology industry sector. Since automotive repair and service shops also undergo the ASE certification process, it is highly regarded and recognized by industry professionals.

As a part of the accreditation process, Joshua Thomson, automotive teacher at Hemet High, developed a website to host all the mandated files for the review. His innovative approach helped to streamline the evaluation process and exceed the standards and expectations set by the evaluation team leader. Thanks to dedicated teachers like Mr. Thomson and our Director of Career Technical Education, Laura Gallardo, HUSD continues to develop high-quality career pathways that align with industry standards and result in increased opportunities for students.
