Good Apple Award

Luciana and Don Marabella were awarded the Good Apple Award on April19, 2016, at the Hemet Unified Board Meeting.  The Marabellas founded the Performing Arts Guild in 2009, a non-profit group, to bring cultural awareness to students in the Greater Hemet/San Jacinto Valley.

The Guild, working collaboratively with the Chapman University Conservatory of Music, the Orange County Pacific Symphony, the Riverside County Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Ballet, and the College of the Arts at California State University, Fullerton, brought the Opera to over 1000 Hemet and San Jacinto students.  Over 800 students were able to attend performances of the symphony in Riverside, and this year our 60 valley students got to see the Los Angeles Ballet productions of Giselle and the Nutcracker at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

Each year the Marabellas open their home in Hemet to host two or three fundraisers to raise money in support of the Guild’s effort to bring music and culture to the Valley.

On behalf of Hemet Unified School District we thank Don and Luciana for their tireless efforts to improve and enrich the lives of the students and citizens of the Valley.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, our teachers, classified and administrative staff, thank you for your generous contributions and your willingness to improve the lives of our students.
