Valle Vista Fun Run

Valle Vista hosted a family Fun Run with First Responders on April 28th from 4-7 p.m. Now, I know what you are thinking. “Fun” and “run” normally aren’t used in a sentence together, but there is no other way to describe the event than saying it was pure fun!

Families and students were able to walk or run together during the event. This was also a perfect opportunity for students who are registered for the school’s 100 mile club, to finish their laps by the end of the school year. Families, students, and first responders could be seen walking around encouraging each other.

The event wouldn’t have been such a wonderful success if it wasn’t for the help and support from local businesses and community members. Thank you to Captain Purvis from Hemet Sheriff's Station, Chief Brown from Hemet Police Department, Chief Brown from Hemet Fire Department, Deputy Loza from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and California Fire from the Valle Vista Station for joining the event. In addition, Rich Biber from Hemet Hospital donated 20 cases of water for the runners, and backpacks for every student registered in the 100 Mile Club, and Winco donated a gift card so staff could provide bananas for the runners. A big thank you to Lindsey Rodriguez for planning the event and for Mrs. Castro for assisting in this wonderful event!
