Schools to Remain Open 9/11/24

Dear HUSD Families,

We want to acknowledge the impact of the recent fires in nearby areas and the potential effect they may have on air quality. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these fires and our hearts are filled with gratitude for the first responders who are working around the clock to contain the fires. At this time, all Hemet Unified School District schools will remain open tomorrow, September 11, 2024, with site-specific inclement weather protocols in place.

We are actively monitoring conditions related to the fire and collaborating with our community partners, including the Air Quality Management District, to stay informed about any changes that would necessitate a change in school operations. We understand that our families rely on a regular school schedule that balances education, child supervision, and meals, allowing families the opportunity to fulfill work obligations. We are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment, with air-conditioned student spaces with high-quality filtration systems, by keeping our schools operational. 

As a school district, we remain vigilant in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and families. We will continue to monitor conditions related to the fires closely, understanding that changes may occur rapidly, and will provide updates as necessary.
