September 11, 2024

Dear HUSD Families,

We want to address concerns about a rumored threat that has been circulating on social media. As soon as we became aware, we promptly contacted law enforcement. The Hemet Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Office investigated the situation and determined that the photo contained in the threat originated out of state and was disseminated widely, affecting multiple school districts across the country. After a thorough investigation, the threat was deemed non-credible.

Please be assured that our schools are safe for students, and we take all safety concerns very seriously. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to report them to school administration. Your child's safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your partnership in keeping our school communities safe.
