Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) - Employees Rights
FFCRA leave was a temporary leave benefit provided by the federal government revolving around COVID-19 (illness, exposure, and child care). This leave benefit expired December 31, 2020, and was not extended by the government. As such, unfortunately, HUSD will not able to provide FFCRA any longer. This means that illness or exposure stemming from COVID-19 will need to come out of your personal leave unless it is determined to be a workers' compensation scenario (see attached handout on AB 685/SB 1159). For a breakdown of all employee leaves please refer to your respective Collective Bargaining Agreement. Please know, should the government change their decision and extend FFCRA, the District will gladly alter as well.
