Grandfathered Status:
If you currently have grandfather status regarding your health and welfare benefits, taking a leave of absence will terminate your eligibility for grandfathered status.  Any eligibility for health and welfare benefits will fall under current contracted hours and eligibility standards as per the collective bargaining agreement upon your return. Upon return from a LOA employees will need to contact Benefits regarding health and welfare enrollment.

If you take a position that is an increase in hours, example: 5 hour employee to 6 hour etc., you will lose your grandfathered status.  A decrease in hours at a later date does not reinstate your grandfathered status.
