Celebrating a Year of Cheers from Peers!

In the fall of last year, Hemet Unified embarked on a mission to create a culture of camaraderie, collaboration and gratitude across our District Departments & Wellness Center staff. As a result, the Cheers from Peers Recognition Program was launched! Cheers from Peers was designed to recognize the unsung heroes within our district for their outstanding work; specifically everyday tasks that add up to a big impact. What makes this program unique is it is a peer-driven recognition program where each award recipient gets to nominate the next recipient, creating a ripple effect of positivity and connecting our district staff even more! They nominate someone who has lent them a helping hand in meeting a deadline, assisting with a project, providing support during unexpected challenges or simply performing random acts of kindness! Cheers from Peers encourages us to celebrate the little things that make a big difference and help define our culture of collaboration, kindness, and support here at HUSD.

Our District Leaders personally recognized nine exceptional individuals who had been nominated by their peers. Each recipient was presented with a prestigious trophy that they displayed for two weeks before passing it on to the next deserving colleague. Alongside this, they received a special tumbler keepsake as a token of appreciation. Additionally, our award recipients were prominently featured on our social media pages and the HUSD website. This public recognition not only celebrated their contributions but also served as an inspiration for others to follow in their footsteps.

Superintendent Dr. Barret shared, “the Cheers from Peers Program has proven to be a resounding success in its first year! It has shown that even the smallest gestures of goodwill can have a profound impact on our collective spirit!”

Stay tuned for our upcoming recognitions throughout this school year! And congratulations again to last year’s amazing cohort of Cheers from Peers Honoraries. To see their award presentation video, click on this link.
