Little Lake is honored to highlight Mrs. Marilyn Barnes as this week’s Employee of Excellence! Mrs. Barnes is a retired teacher who is currently serving as one of Little Lake’s resident subs. On a daily basis, Mrs. Barnes provides exceptional support in the classes that she subs in. Her extraordinary skill set, experience, and heart that she brings to the work is making a difference each day. With any assignment, Mrs. Barnes thoroughly prepares ahead of time, delivers lessons in a highly engaging way, and goes out of her way to meet the needs of each individual student.
In addition, she jumps in to help wherever assistance is needed. She has trained to administer the ELPAC assessment, is covering a Walk to Learn group, covered a long term Special Education assignment last year, and has supported with our family nights. Furthermore, Mrs. Barnes is thoroughly prepared for what may come up in the day. She has a cart of educational activities that she has ready if she is needed to sub for a class at the last minute.
Mrs. Barnes is an invaluable team member that is making a true difference each day. Thank you, Mrs. Barnes, for all you do for our Little Lake Lions!
