Hemet Unified Announces its New Superintendent

 

The Hemet Unified School District (HUSD) Governing Board will announce the appointment of the new Superintendent on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. A reception to meet the new Superintendent will be held from 3:30-4:30p.m. in the Governing Board Room. 

The HUSD Governing Board, with the help from the search firm McPherson and Jacobson, LLC, selected Christi Barrett as the new Superintendent of Hemet Unified. Barrett, currently the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources at Val Verde Unified School District, will take on her new role starting July 1, 2016.

Mrs. Barrett has held various positions in education that has prepared her for her new leadership role. She began her career as a special education teacher, served as a site principal, and as an Assistant Superintendent for two school districts. She is currently in the Urban Leadership doctoral program at Claremont Graduate University.

Mrs. Barrett expressed her excitement to come to Hemet as the new superintendent and community member. She said she is looking forward to joining the HUSD team and focusing on academic achievements for all students.
