Thank s to to Measure X Bond Projects Continue to Transform HUSD facilities! Thanks to the continued impact of the Measure X Bond and the ongoing support of our community, HUSD continues to transform its facilities to better serve and prepare students for today and tomorrow.

Since the passage of the $150 million Measure X general obligation bond in 2018, HUSD has made tremendous strides in revitalizing school facilities across the district. Over the past several years, projects have included new HVAC systems, secured entryways, updated libraries and playgrounds, and four full campus rebuilds—transforming the learning environment into one that supports student success and safety.

This summer, the district continued that momentum with several key improvements. Whittier Elementary School is entering its final phase of construction and remains on track for completion.

Hamilton Elementary received a new artificial turf field, which will provide a durable, multi-purpose space for athletics and physical activity—especially important given limited access to water in the region.

In addition, many sites received kitchen upgrades to improve food service operations, and shaded concrete areas were installed under solar panels to create comfortable outdoor activity spaces during warmer months.

Lastly, due to student enrollment and programs continuing to grow, HUSD has expanded its District Office to better accommodate staff and technology equipment, much of which was formerly located in shared or hallway spaces.

With the Measure X Bond funding winding down, HUSD recognizes the outstanding financial stewardship of its Business Department and the tireless work of the Facilities and Maintenance & Operations teams. HUSD remains dedicated to identifying needs and securing funding for remaining projects.

These enhancements reflect HUSD’s continued commitment to creating vibrant, student-centered learning environments. With the support of our community, Measure X continues to reshape the future of education—one project at a time.
