Hemet Preschool is proud to nominate Preschool Teacher, Mrs. Katie Gage (left) and Instructional Aide, Ms. Kimia Behrad (right) for their outstanding contributions to Hemet Unified Preschool Programs. With 8 years of service from Mrs. Katie and 2.5 years from Mrs. Kimia, they serve our youngest learners at the Idyllwild State Preschool mountain site in a full-day program where children feel genuinely loved, respected, and excited to learn. Together, they have created a welcoming classroom environment that fosters strong social-emotional development, confidence, and trust, allowing students to thrive and reach their greatest potential.
Their students eagerly arrive at school each day, and former students often return to visit—an intentional practice they warmly acknowledge to ensure every child continues to feel seen and valued. Katie and Kimia go above and beyond to build meaningful relationships with families through consistent communication, participation in school spirit days, community engagement, and sharing special classroom moments and timely updates. Their classroom is both engaging and educational, highlighted by a monthly themed display of student artwork that delights children and families alike.
