Graduation Attire
Wear smart clothing beneath your gown. We recommend comfortable shoes. You will be walking on hilly dirt paths throughout the ceremony. Ladies, we suggest a small crossbody bag for your items.
To create a polished look. Gowns MUST be worn zipped up during the entire ceremony. This will be enforced.
All graduation attire should be worn as is, with no alterations. We do allow you to decorate the top of the cap.
Caps should not be decorated with anything inappropriate or exceed two inches in height, obstructing the vision of the graduate or others. Decorated caps are subject to administration approval. If you are unsure feel free to speak to an admin before you start decorating.
Limit the number of adornments i.e. money leis, flower leis, candy leis, etc. for the graduate. The graduation stole should be visible on top of the gown. You may be asked to leave the additional decorations with family or friends before the ceremony begins. Subject to administration approval.
DO NOT flat iron your gown, it will damage it. Use a handheld steamer or shower steam to remove the wrinkles.
Wear stole pins to keep the stole from flying away and falling off. You have been given two stole pins. The pins should be placed on either side of the stole just above the logo and the HUSD embroidery.
Caps should be worn with the point-facing front and the elastic to the back. You may use bobby pins to secure the cap. Also, the tassel should be worn on the right side of the cap until the turning of the tassel at the end of the ceremony.
Mandatory rehearsal - Monday, June 1st - Ramona Bowl @ 8:30 am Dress comfortably. Bring water.
Leave important items with your family during the graduation ceremony. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Do not remove the wristband that you will receive at rehearsal. It is your proof that you attended the practice.
