Faces and Places Photography Show

Photography students at Tahquitz High School were given the opportunity to proudly display their hard work to family and friends. On Friday, February 26, 2016, students from a Career Technical Education (CTE) course at Tahquitz hosted an event at Diamond Valley Arts Center called Faces & Places.

Nearly 150 people came to show their support for the 38 students who presented their work. The photos displayed were chosen by a student committee, and Mr. Thomas Marason, Tahquitz’s Photography teacher, acted as the final judge.Mr. Marason said his students exceeded all expectations he had. He spoke of the dedication and hard work that went into every photo, and the level of creativity his students possess. Photography is nothing new, so finding new ways to photograph something is a unique talent.

Thank you to Mayor Bonnie Wright, Council Member Linda Krupa, City Manager Alex Meyerhoff, Riverside County of Education Coordinator Principal Claire Spence, Tahquitz Principal Derek Jindra, Tahquitz Assistant Principal Mark Harrell, Hemet Unified’s Director of Secondary Education Mark Attebery, and Richard Letiz, Elena Kern and Lois Tipp of the Diamond Valley Arts Council.

The amount of support from parents, educators, and community members truly made the event special. We thank each of you that were able to come and witness the skill and creativity of these students. A big thank you to the Tahquitz Jazz Band for entertaining all of the guests as well as setting the tone for a wonderful evening!
