Faculty Focus Friday for High Schools

This week, three employees will be recognized as the Faculty Focus Friday employee for high schools. Hemet High School’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Instructors, Lt. Col. Gevin Harrison, Chief Mst. Sgt. Angela Valentine, and Chief Mst. Sgt. Patrick Wood serve 160 cadets through the Air Force Junior ROTC program (AFJROTC) at Hemet High. These three instructors were selected because they work as a unit to ensure the cadet program serves the students on campus. These cadets volunteer in the community, serve as Honor Guard at the National Cemetery, provide service to the school and compete in AFJROTC competitions under the leadership of their instructors. On January 13, the unit received a Formal Unit Evaluation, and because of the exceptional work of these three individuals, the AFJROTC unit earned an overall “Exceeds Standards” rating. This is the highest rating attainable!  The instructors have worked to ensure that the cadets represent Hemet High and their unit with pride.  The inspector stated, "Your instructors are exceptional role models and are providing a high quality AFJROTC program." Thank you Lt. Col. Harrison, Chief Mst. Sgt. Valentine, and Chief Mst. Sgt. Wood for creating a high achieving and respectable AFJROTC program!
