HUSD Welcomes its New Board President and Vice President

Hemet Unified’s Governing Board held its Annual Organizational Meeting before the last Board Meeting of 2018. During the Organizational Meeting, the newly elected Board Members, Megan Haley, Vic Scavarda, Rob Davis, and Horacio “Ross” Valenzuela, were administered the Oath of Office.

The Governing Board unanimously voted Megan Haley to serve as Board President for 2019. Mrs. Haley served as Vice President last year for the Governing Board and is excited to serve as the President this year. Haley has served on the Board for four years and this is the first time she has served as Board President. “I look forward to continuing to work with the District in order to improve educational opportunities for all Hemet Unified students,” she said. She continued to say that, “all the decisions we make are about our students.”

Rob Davis was voted to serve as the Governing Board’s Vice President for 2019. Mr. Davis was appointed in September of 2017 after Board Trustee Joe Wojcik left. Davis said he is honored to serve the Board in this capacity and looks forward to learning under President Haley’s leadership.

In addition to the new appointments, Board Members committed to serving on various committees throughout the district and authorized specified employees to serve as Authorized Agents.

The District would like to welcome our newly elected Board and congratulate Mrs. Megan Haley and Rob Davis on their election as Board President and Vice President.
