Horacio "Ross" Valenzuela's Bio

Horacio "Ross" Valenzuela represents Trustee Area 2 and his term expires in 2026.
 
Biography
Mr. Valenzuela retired from Hemet Unified School District in 2006 after serving as Library Media Teacher/Librarian at various secondary schools within the district. He and his wife, Lynette, have been married for more than 50 years and have lived in the Valley for more than 36 years. Their three children attended Hemet schools and all graduated from Hemet High School. A daughter and son are currently teaching within the district and the third child was an elementary teacher in the Val Verde School District. Five of seven grandchildren are attending or will attend Hemet schools.
 
Ross taught American Government and Civics and was the Librarian at Baldwin Park High School for five years. In 1978 he came to the valley and was the district and high school Librarian for the San Jacinto Unified School District. He started working for the Hemet Unified School District in 1980 at Acacia School. He worked at Santa Fe Middle School and Hemet High School and was the Library Media Teacher/Librarian at Dartmouth Middle School when he retired in 2006. Currently Ross is an Adjunct Faculty Associate Librarian for the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District.
 
He has served as Trustee for Hemet Unified School District since 2010, and is presently serving his second term of office.
