School Fees Notice

Hemet Unified School District's school fees are as follows:

  • The approved Statutory School Fee (Level I) for additions to residential dwelling units is $3.79 per square foot, effective May 21, 2018.
  • The approved Statutory School Fee (Level I) for commercial/industrial and senior-residential construction is $0.61 per square foot, effective May 21, 2018.
  • The approved Alternative School Fee (Level II) for new residential construction is $3.91, effective May 8, 2019.

The Hemet Unified School District will ONLY ACCEPT CERTIFIED/CASHIER CHECKSas payment for school fees.

Notice of Public Hearing

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Hemet Unified School District ("School District") will hold a public hearing at its Professional Development Service Center Board Room located at 1791 West Acacia Avenue, Hemet, CA 92545 at 5:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as is practical on May 5, 2020 to allow for public comment prior to consideration of adoption of a resolution which would approve a "School Facilities Needs Analysis” for consideration of Alternative School Fees (Sections 65995.5 and 65995.7 of the Government Code) ("Analysis") prepared for the School District by Cooperative Strategies, LLC. 


If adopted by the Governing Board, the resolution and the Analysis would authorize the imposition of the Alternative No. 2 and Alternative No. 3 school impact mitigation fees on new residential development within the School District as permitted by Senate Bill 50, Chapter 407 of the Statues of 1998. The Analysis can be reviewed during the public review period of April 3, 2020, through May 5, 2020 at the School District office located at 1791 West Acacia Avenue, Hemet, CA 92545 by appointment. Refer to the number below to schedule an appointment. The Analysis may also be reviewed on the School District’s website at The Governing Board will respond to written comments on the Analysis at or before the public hearing.

Mitigation Agreements

At a public hearing held on February 23, 2016, the Governing Board approved resolution numbers 2394, 2399, 2400 and 2401, effectively terminating all mitigation agreements between Hemet Unified School District and developers prior to 1987.  All new development is subject to the current school fees as described above.
